Ibiza is one of those cities that pretty much always makes the top on “must see” places in Spain, ’cause it’s warm for a good chunk of the year, it has beaches, and it’s got a LOT of tourist attractions. BUT what people don’t usually expect from Ibiza is that it has a ton of variety for photos and a lot of beautiful views! If you think that Ibiza is just beaches and bikinis, then you have yet to explore a little bit more to find Es Vedra, which in my opinion, is the best place to take your Ibiza Engagement Photos. That’s mostly why I want to share with you this photoshoot— an Es Vedra Ibiza Engagement.

Ibiza Location Scouting

As a part of our job as photographers in Spain, Jake and I actually location-scout! We love finding places that fit our couples perfectly. In this case, we searched for a bit in Ibiza until we found a beautiful, secluded hidden beach for the first part of our photoshoot. Then moving onward, we found this absolutely gorgeous spot called Es Vedra— perfect place for an intimate Ibiza engagement session!

Cala Salada— Ibiza’s Hidden Beach

You might not believe me, but you don’t have to travel far to find a nice beach like this in Ibiza. Cala Salada is a small beach that mostly just the locals know about. And if you go early enough, there won’t be a lot of people. We took advantage of this and we went in the morning for a sunrise shoot with enough time for us to make our way to Es Vedra for sunset.

Preparing for Your Es Vedra Ibiza Engagement Session

If you’ve recently gotten engaged, hurray! Now that you’re planning your engagement photoshoot, there are some things to consider when doing a photoshoot in Ibiza. Here’s our best tips for preparing and having success with our engagement sessions:

Plan for a good time of year and day. To beat the heat and the cold, the best times for photoshoots in Ibiza is either in the spring or fall (March-June; Sept.-Nov.). You’ll want to check the weather before your photoshoot in order to make sure you’ve got clear skies for a beautiful sunset. The best time for your photoshoot would be an hour and a half before sunset.
Wear comfortable shoes! You won’t regret this one! While the route to Es Vedra is marked, this location in particular is a rubbly and inclined hike to the viewpoint where the best photos are, so wearing a pair of comfy shoes to get there is something we always suggest.
Bring props, or something that represents you as a couple. We love to make each and every single photoshoot unique to you, so go ahead and bring that guitar, those hand-written vows, champagne and a picnic— we want to capture whatever you like doing most together.
Bring headlamps and some warm clothes for hiking back in the dark for afterwards. There’s no such thing as being over-prepared! You’ll thank yourself for bringing headlamps or flashlights with you for the hike back down the mountain, ’cause it’ll be dark and you don’t want to get lost on the way down.

There’s actually a lot of legends and myths around the place because of it’s beauty.
