Alicante Destination Wedding— Altea, Alicante
Alicante is without a doubt one of the most beautiful areas in Spain. And, if you travel out into the small, quintessential town of Altea, you’ll find white houses and cobblestone streets with direct views of the sea and beach.
Finca Marqués de Montemolar is located on a hill, with many wedding spaces including a ceremony area that has a view of the beach and it is absolutely stunning at sunset! This finca is the best of both worlds because when you’re on the property you feel like you’re the only people in the world, but in reality you’re so close to the beach and town.

Tips for Having Your Wedding at Finca Marqués de Montemolar
If you’re planning your wedding in Altea, Alicante, hurray! There are some things to consider when it comes to your photos at this specific finca, and these are some tips we’ve noticed brings us success:
- Get ready at the finca. Finca Marqués de Montemolar has a handful of incredibly romantic suites to get ready in separately. The rooms are spacious and very photogenic so you don’t have to worry about having your family and friends being there while you get ready.
- Have your ceremony later in the day. If you want the best lighting and weather for your ceremony time, aim for later in the day. Midday is usually the worst time because the sun is high and will cast shadows on your faces! If you aim for anytime past 5pm, then you’ll be getting much nicer lighting for some beautiful ceremony photos!
- Leave room in your schedule for at least 30 minutes of portrait photos on the property after the ceremony. The entire property has beautiful spaces with gardens and lovely corners to take portraits in. Make sure you schedule in enough time to make some portraits of just you two happen! Right after the ceremony or during cocktail hour is usually most convenient.

This particular wedding ceremony was around 6pm in June. They had an entrance by the groom, then the bride, followed by a prayer, a saying of vows, a short and sentimental speech by the officiant, and then a triumphal exit down the aisle.

Finca Marqués de Montemolar is a perfect location for small weddings and big weddings alike, with a capacity of around 300 guests. This is where the guests enjoy the cocktail while watching the sun set across the scenery. Later, after the reception tables and lights have been set up, it turns into a glowing haven to spend the rest of the night. These are the moments that literally feel magical. Even Jake and I had to pinch ourselves a couple times to make sure we weren’t dreaming!
