Okay, but what else makes Madrid so great? I’m going to name a few. First, it’s home of some really cool museums, it has amazing food (especially if you’re into seafood—the calamari and cod paella slaps), and the charm of the capital, Madrid, will make you fall in love with it.

Getting photos taken of your sunset Engagement in Downtown Madrid will be one of the coolest memories you’ll have. For example, there’s a ton of history linked to this city. Madrid is famous for its warm culture and love for hospitality, so, it welcomes visitor’s from all over the world. What to Wear for Your Engagement Photos

If you’re like me, then you want to be prepared for any and every situation! When it comes to planning an engagement photoshoot, it’s really helpful to be prepared for anything. Here are some tips on what to wear when having your photos taken in Madrid:

  1. Make sure you bring an outfit change — it’ll add some variety. Also, in the summer, the weather can be pretty hot in the city! If you’re coming in the fall or winter, a light jacket will do!
  2. What colours should you wear? Neutrals, solid colours, accompanied by one article with a pattern often looks really good! All in all, just make sure there aren’t any clashing patterns and colours.
  3. Wherever you decide to go, make sure to bring shoes that you feel comfortable walking in. A lot of the streets are windy and it can take a while to get around. Because of this, it makes it hard to wear heels (unless you’re a pro!).

Best Photo Locations in Downtown Madrid

It’s always a good idea hit up Instagram-worthy photo locations! The photos above are at the Cathedral de la Almudena, which you can find here. The people in the photos give you a good scale of just how big and beautiful the Cathedral is!

The photos below were taken in the Cabo Noval Garden just a short walk from the Cathedral. At sunset (in the summer in Madrid, the sun sets around 20:00-20:30), the sun comes through the trees and makes for a perfect spot for your engagement photos!

Gran Via Engagement Photos

Last but certainly not least, Gran Via is one spot you must visit for your sunset engagement in downtown Madrid. It’s one of the longest streets in Madrid, and has a ton of shops, cafes, restaurants, and theatres too. You really feel the life of the city when you’re walking down Gran Via— there’s so much to do, see and plenty of spots to take photos!
