The Venue: Antigua Fabrica de Harinas, in Madrid
To start, this spring elopement took place at the drop-dead gorgeous venue Antigua Fabrica de Harinas. You might not believe me, but you only need to travel an hour out of Madrid to get to this gem. This finca has absolutely everything you’d possibly want in a wedding venue: spacious green fields for outdoor ceremony and cocktail, an indoor banquet hall, getting ready rooms, and also a breathtaking outside garden. If you ever want to talk to the owner, know that she’s absolutely amazing and will make your experience super easy and enjoyable.
A Spring Elopement in Madrid| Una Boda Intima
If 2020 has taught me anything about weddings, it’s that it’s not about the party, the show, or really the guest amount either. We’ve kinda been forced to look at what really matters— celebrating your relationship, and making the best out of that despite all the restrictions.
This spring elopement was the perfect reminder that magic still happens in the Plan B (or Plan H), because the magic isn’t constrained to the amount of people you have at your wedding, but the quality of those around you, even if it’s not everyone you had hoped to be there.
One way to make your wedding unique is to plan a vow reading! For example, while getting ready this couple wrote their vows out in beautiful vow books (made by Papelosophie), and later at the ceremony exchanged their vows to each other. It was an absolutely beautiful way to do something different and yet make it special for everyone. If you want more inspiration for doing a vow exchange, check out this gallery.
A Spring Elopement Ceremony at Antigua Fabrica de Harinas
If you’re struggling to make your elopement ceremony timeline, then I can help you get some inspiration! Here’s how this spring spring elopement at antigua Fabrica de Harinas ceremony went:
First, before actually doing the ceremony, they did a first look. If you don’t know what that is, it’s when the bride and the groom see each other for the first time after getting all ready, but the catch is that no one else is there. It’s an intimate moment between the bride and the groom before the ceremony. Although it’s not the traditional way of first seeing the bride walk down the aisle, it does add a special intimate moment to your wedding day.
After that, they walked down the aisle together and had their ceremony. First, they exchanged the vows to each other, which were customized and unique (if you want some ideas on unique ways to write your vows, head over here). Then, after the officiant had said some words, they gave each other their rings.
Finally, a blessing was made, and the newly married couple exited the ceremony with the guests showering them with rose petals (all this amazing floral decor in these photos were done by L’Atelier de las Flores).
