Mallorca is one of those places that almost always gets on people’s list of places to go to while in Spain. It is beautiful! But what most people don’t know about Mallorca is that it is incredibly diverse. It has lakes, mountains, beaches, you name it! One location in particular that we love in Mallorca is on the northeastern coast in the town of Deià, a place called Son Marroig, which makes for one of our favorite locations to recommend to anyone thinking about popping the question in Mallorca. If you think that Spain is just beaches and bikinis (although it does have that), then you’ve got to do some more searching— that’s mostly why we want to share with you this Mallorca Golden Hour Proposal at Son Marroig.

Best Surprise Proposal Location in Mallorca— at Son Marroig

There are a lot of beautiful spots to propose at in Mallorca, but Son Marroig is by far our favorite at sunset! While you do have a couple logistical obstacles like opening hours and photography fees, if you hire good photographers like us who know how to navigate them we can assure you that it is totally worth it! Getting Golden Hour Photos at Son Marroig

As a part of our job as proposal photographers in Mallorca, we’re always searching for the best locations for proposals. Ever since we found this columned gondola viewpoint at the Son Marroig museum, we’ve brought couples back here countless times because it’s just so gorgeous. This gondola is the perfect spot for your Mallorca engagement photos if you’re looking for something intimate paired with some amazing golden hour seaside views. After the proposal moment, we took some portraits around the museum and then headed to the town of Deià for more photos and to pop some champagne in celebration, which is a 5-minute drive from the proposal location.

Preparing for Your Surprise Proposal at Son Marroig:

If you’re planning to propose at Son Marroig, hurray, we’re glad you’re here! Here’s our best tips for preparing and having success with a surprise proposal at Son Marroig:

• Plan for a good time of year and day. To beat the heat and the cold, the best times for engagements at Son Marroig is either in the spring or fall (March-July; Sept.-Nov.). The museums’s closing hours vary throughout the year— if you hire us to be your photographers, we will create the perfect timeline so you get the best photos. Note: This location requires a photography fee of 1.000€ EUR.

• Transportation to Son Marroig. The best and most efficient way to get around Mallorca and to get to Son Marroig is by car as it’s about 45 mins from Palma city. If you hire us to be your photographers, we offer a carpool from a convenient location to Son Marroig included in the photoshoot price.

• What to wear on your photoshoot. This location can get quite hot for a photoshoot since it’s opening hours are in the peak of the day. Keep that in mind! Also make sure to bring some comfy shoes to walk around in.

• Bring props: a bouquet, a blanket, etc. We highly recommend getting a flower bouquet as a compliment in the photos! Additionally, we have add-ons to our proposal photo package that include a champagne bottle, a floral arrangement, violinist, and more. Feel free to bring whatever else you’d like to incorporate in your proposal.

• Have fun. Don’t worry about the cameras and the posing. That’s our job as the photographers! All you need to do is enjoy the moment with the one you love the most, and make it a fun date night! I promise you’ll be having a good time 10 minutes into your photoshoot.
