France Destination Wedding— Benest, France
Let me give you a run-down! This couple was from New York, and they wanted something exquisitely different for their wedding day. It was going to be such a special event, why not go all out? Why not make your wildest dreams come true?
They found this chateau hidden in the French countryside and immediately knew it was the right place to gather their closest friends and family for their intimate week-long wedding celebration. It had on-property accommodation, a banquet hall, a backyard for the ceremony— everything they needed in one place (heck, they even have a pool).
I’ll let the wedding day speak for itself in the photos. If you want your wedding photos to look like these, then contact us and let’s start the planning.
Tips for Having Your Wedding at Le Chateau de la Borderie
If you’re planning your wedding at Le Chateau de la Borderie, hurray! There are some things to consider when it comes to your photos at this specific chateau, and these are some tips we’ve noticed brings us success:
- Do a first look! We always recommend to couples getting married at this chateau to do a first look before the ceremony. See the photos below for what they can look like! Our favourite spot for doing a first look at la Borderie is the front of the chateau, then you get to see all it’s glory in the background.
- Have your ceremony later in the day. If you want the best lighting for your ceremony time, aim for later in the day. Midday is usually (depending on the season) the worst time because the sun is high and will cast ugly shadows on your faces! If you aim for anytime past 4pm, then you’ll be getting much nicer lighting for some beautiful ceremony photos!
- Have your ceremony behind the chateau. The chateau has a beautiful backyard, so that’s where we would recommend having the ceremony set up. That way, you’ll have the best views of the back of the chateau and enough space to seat all your guests. We also recommend facing toward the building if possible!
- Leave room in your schedule for at least 30 minutes of portrait photos on the property. The whole property is absolutely gorgeous— you won’t want to miss getting portrait photos done around the chateau grounds. Make sure you schedule in enough time to make that happen! Right after the ceremony or during cocktail hour is usually most convenient.
Wedding Ceremony Location at Le Chateau de la Borderie
I’d love to show you how beautiful and perfect a ceremony can be at Le Chateau de la Borderie! Now, like I’ve said before, there’s a lovely backyard with the chateau in the background. If you’re not convinced to have your wedding ceremony here by looking at these photos, then I really don’t know what to say! Le Chateau de la Borderie offers a breathtakingly natural outdoors setting coupled with a rustic chateau experience that will blow away your friends and family!
This particular wedding ceremony was around 5pm in October. They had an entrance by the groom, then the bride, followed by a prayer, a saying of vows, a short and sentimental speech by the officiant, and then a triumphal exit down the aisle.
Group Photos at Le Chateau de la Borderie
Groups photos are amazing at the back of the building, right after the end of the ceremony while everyone is gathered together already! We got these family photos of everybody with some amazing lighting here. Group Photo Tip: It’s good to have someone who knows all the family to arrange people (especially if there’s a lot of guests) in groups and get everyone situated so the photographer doesn’t have to be overwhelmed! We had the bride’s brother-in-law help us on this one.
